Accessibility at Antwerp Mansion

ROOMS:

Upstairs: Toilet cubicle, Ballroom, Checkerboard Room, Red Room, The Forgotten Bedroom, Hallway
Downstairs: Smoking shelter, Pink Room, Gig Room, Green Room, Basement, Hallway, Double toilet, Urinal

ACCESSIBILITY:

Antwerp Mansion is not wheel chair accessible and does not have a ramp to inside the building.
In the future we hope to make parts of the building accessible and will update this space when this happens.

ACCESSIBILITY BUILDING WALK-THROUGH:

Entering through the event entrance (back gate) you will be met by a curb outside the gate. Further down the road there is a dipped curb to access the pavement.
Upon entering the grounds there is a dirt path which is fairly even.
To access the mansion door you will cross the smoking shelter which is also a dirt ground. To get through the door you will need to walk up four medium but wide steps with no railing.
All of our doors can fit a standard wheel chair through.
There is adequate lighting through the mansion. Depending on the layout of the events some rooms may have dimly lit lighting, colourful nightclub lighting, a strobe light and smoke machine.
To access the first floor there is no elevator. There is a staircase with approximately 25 wide steps with a handrail on the left side the entire way up.

BATHROOMS:

Ground floor: There is a urinals that can be accessed through the Gig Room and a bathroom with 2 toilets, a sink and small bin within the one cubical.
First floor: There is a bathroom upstairs with a toilet, sink and small bin within the cubical. We have a row of five cubical toilets that sometimes work but are mostly used as a photoshoot spot.
All bathrooms and toilets are gender neutral.

CAR PARK:

If you require a car park for accessibility please contact us before an event to ensure a member of staff can give you access to the Mansions private car park and information on the accessibility as it is different to the description above
Front gate: This entrance has a free private carpark that can fit around 10 cars in.
Back gate: There is no parking on this entrance. Please be aware of the restrictions for the street parking on the roads around. There is a car park down the road (NCP 54 Dickenson Road, Manchester, M14 5HA = £5.95 for 24 hours)

SENSORY WARNINGS:

Dust, fumes from spray paint, smoke/haze machine, candles may be present and could cause irritation to lungs.
Crowded spaces, haze/smoke machine, colourful/strobe/flashing lights

Anti-social behaviour:

Although the Mansion may give the appearance it is a free for all to spray paint and graffiti - this is banned in all rooms bar the bathroom walls only. If caught you will be held accountable for damage costs alongside being removed from the venue and barred from all future events.
Any other anti-social behaviour such as drink and disorderly, fighting, assault, damage to property etc will not be tolerated, you will be removed from the event and barred from all future events.
